Coconut Grove Townhome
Overview
Full renovation of a Coconut Grove townhome in two phases — kitchen, breakfast nook, family and living room, and powder bath in Phase 1; bedrooms and baths in Phase 2.
Focus
Replace disconnected, generic spaces with a warm, cohesive interior centered on a custom kitchen and natural materials — designed around how the family actually uses the space.
Result
A tailored kitchen and family room with Taj Mahal quartzite surfaces, oak ceiling details, and a breakfast nook with pool and garden views.
Before the Renovation
The kitchen and family room were functional but generic — limited storage, little material character, and no real flow between them. The breakfast area felt disconnected from everything else. The renovation replaced all of it with a cohesive interior built around how the family cooks and lives.
Living Areas
A custom kitchen anchored by warm wood slim-shaker cabinetry and Taj Mahal quartzite surfaces — peninsula connecting cooking to casual dining, and a breakfast nook positioned to capture pool and garden views. The family room connects directly to the kitchen through consistent materials and open sightlines. Oak ceiling beams, custom built-ins, and layered lighting in warm metal tones carry the kitchen's warmth through the living space without adding visual clutter. A fully renovated powder room coordinated with the kitchen and family room, so the smaller space feels like part of the same home, not an afterthought.
Primary Suite | Secondary Spaces — Phase 2, In Progress
The second floor is being completely rebuilt — every interior partition removed, floors taken up, the entire level reconfigured. When complete, the primary suite will take the space it deserves — a large bedroom, a spa-style bathroom with freestanding tub and separate shower, and two independent walk-in closets. A children's room and home office will sit on the opposite side of the floor with a shared bathroom between them, and a new private nanny suite with its own bathroom will be reachable without crossing through family space.
